Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) are now looking for about 10 'champion trainers' from the Sacred Space sector to work with colleagues from the heritage and the built environment and sectors. These champion trainers will attend the first “train the trainer” event on Thursday 27 November 08. This event will be hosted by CfBT for selected champion trainers across all sectors.
Having attended this training in November, a champion trainer will then have access to the Quality Badge training materials and will be authorised to deliver Quality Badge training to providers in their sector.
However, an important condition of being a champion trainer is that the individual must commit to training at least another 15 individuals in their sector to be “trainers” within two months of 27 November 08, but preferably by the end of December. Here are a couple of ways in which this might be achieved:
• If the individual is associated with a representative organisation in their sector (i.e. Churches Conservation Trust, CBA, National Trust, etc.), they might wish to organise a “train the trainer” event with the support of that organisation. • GEM will be organising “train the trainer” events across all three sectors and a champion trainer might wish to volunteer to support one of these events in order to fulfil their commitment.
It is the intention that by the end of December 08, we will have a sizeable pool of Quality Badge trainers who can then support the training of learning providers from January 09 onwards, when the Quality Badge scheme begins.
If you are interested in being nominated as a 'champion trainer' please contact Joyce Miller:
as soon as possible.
