Aims to bring Christian insights and values into education at all levels by:
- Running courses on a variety of educational topics. These include INSET days and distance learning courses at certificate, diploma and masters level validated by the University of Wales, Bangor.
- Publishing resources for teachers. The Stapleford Centre has published many books, both primary and secondary, for RE, school assembly and spiritual and moral development. A subscription website, Assembling Citizens, provides a weekly current affairs assembly and a bank of PSHE and citizenship assemblies for use with KS3 and KS4. A range of CD-ROMs for primary schools link the RE curriculum with topics in PSHE and citizenship. The REthinking subscription series, providing a termly book, is an invaluable resource to improve teaching and learning in RE.
- Publishing research, for example The Bible and the task of teaching (Stapleford Centre, 2002), Agenda for Educational Change (Apollos, 1997), Making Sense of Spiritual Development (Stapleford Centre, 1999) and the twice-yearly Journal of Education and Christian Belief (in co-operation with the
Association of Christian Teachers and Kuyers Institute).
- Offering an online bookshop for teachers through the website.
