SCRIPTURAL REASONING CO-ORDINATOR
Based at The Three Faiths Forum

This position is a part-time appointment for 2-3 days a week, initially for one year and based in Camden. The postholder will report to the Project Director of Three Faiths Forum, who will act as his/her line manager under the supervision and collaboration of The Cambridge Inter-Faith Programme and St. Ethelburga’s Centre for Reconciliation and Peace. Duties and Responsibilities

To co-ordinate the practice of Scriptural Reasoning in the UK.

Specific duties include, but are not confined to, the following:

a)    Manage and develop a website: design and expand the site, populate it with texts and other resources, and administer it.

b)    Ensure good relations and develop resources and network structure in line with partners in the UK and overseas.

c)    Develop resources: format texts, commission introductions, and “how to” guides

d)    Liaise with academic and religious institutions in London for the textual work

e)    Liaise with different Scriptural Reasoning groups and their convenors in the UK

f)    Co-ordinate visits to local groups by SR Practitioners

Hours of work and Salary

The appointment is for 2-3 days per week, and is based at The Three Faiths Forum’s offices in Kentish Town. The postholder will need to be prepared to work occasional evenings, for which time off will be allowed in lieu.
The salary for the post is £20,000 pro rata per annum. The post is non-pensionable.

Person specification

Education
•    Degree or equivalent

Experience
•    Experience of website design and development
•    Experience of organising educational/training programmes
•    Experience of working with different faith communities
•    Some knowledge and experience in Scriptural Reasoning or work among the Abrahamic Faiths preferable

Skills and abilities
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•    IT literate, with good working knowledge of Word and Excel
•    Website design and development
•    Excellent organisational skills
•    Accuracy and attention to detail
•    Good capacity for self-directed working and also team work
•    Proven ability to work with a wide range of people, particularly religious leaders, academics, and scholars
•    Diplomatic and courteous manner
